Expectations
The Occidental Dance team is for driven athletes who would like to continue their craft. Throughout the year we have a rigorous training schedule, which we expect our dancers to attend to the best of their ability. This will allow our team to grow and learn together, creating a loving community where we strive to hold each other up. Respect, comradery, and dedication is required.
Team Tracks
Those who make the team will automatically be in spirit squad. Auditions will determine if you will have the opportunity to compete in jazz and/or pom.
Spirit Squad
Anyone who makes the team will be in spirit squad. They will perform at soccer and basketball half times in pom and hip hop, and participate in sidelines. If you wish to only perform in one style we are open to accommodating.
Competing in Jazz
This additional level will be chosen at auditions. You will learn an additional jazz dance and compete it at USA Nationals.
Competing in Pom
This additional level will be chosen at auditions. You will learn an additional pom dance and compete it at USA Nationals.
*Some team members may be offered the opportunity to be a reserve. This means you can learn the competition dances, but you won't compete unless someone else is unable to perform. This is helpful if you would like to work towards a competition dance, but don't quite meet the level of the team yet.
